Our Team
Jack & Sons brings more than seven decades of experience in welding and fabrication to every project. Having worked with all types of materials for all kinds of industries including military/defense, we can bring your design to life.

Our History
Jack & Sons Welding and Fabricating (J&S) was established in 1969 as a welding and fabrication job shop. A family-owned business, J&S performed fabrication and repair of forestry equipment in northern Michigan.
Initially, the J&S team specialized in thicker steel assemblies, multi-pass welds and machining of replacement parts. This experience led to larger projects for area government agencies, such as fabricating snow plow carriages for large commercial trucks. As the market moved to lightweight components, J&S built capabilities for welding thicker aluminum fabricated assemblies and tackled even more complex projects.

In 2021, Jack & Sons Welding and Fabricating became a part of the United Technical group of companies. This partnership adds welding engineering, welder workmanship training programs, nondestructive testing and inspection, metallurgical testing and weld process validation to the already strong J&S portfolio. This group of affiliate companies comprise a unique offering of services providing complete solutions for customers’ fabrication and assembly requirements.
